TruffleTrek offers a unique opportunity to experience truffle hunting in a location immersed in the heart of one of Italy’s most beautiful landscapes: the Crete Senesi.
Come visit us in Asciano (Siena), near Agriturismo Santarcangelo, and treat yourself to one of our excursions with tasting, designed to immerse you in the excitement of truffle hunting and overwhelm you with the magic of flavors.
An expert will guide you with a faithful truffle dog to discover the secrets of the hunt. You will learn to recognize truffles, their varieties and main characteristics, as well as the ideal properties of their habitat and the types of forests they prefer
Our truffle excursions
Our excursions, led by an experienced truffle hunter, take place within the Santarcangelo truffle ground and last approximately 60-90 minutes.
The variety of truffles depends on the time of year:
- White Truffle - From Oct to Jan 15th
- Marzuolo (or Bianchetto) Truffle - From Jan 10th to end Apr
- Black Scorzone Truffle - From Jun 1st to end Sep
Truffle Trek offers truffle hunting excursions throughout the year.
The minimum number of participants is 2, and the maximum is 8.
You can choose between the excursion only or the excursion + tasting.
In the second case, the excursion will be followed by a tasting of local typical products, Tuscan wines (such as Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino), and of course…truffle.
All of this takes place in the extraordinary location of Agriturismo Santarcangelo
